In a terrifying incident, an XL bully dog viciously attacked a three-year-old boy named Denis Jano. The kid was playing outside his new home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The dog clamped its jaws around his head, causing severe injuries to his face and scalp, as well as bruises to his arm and back. Luckily, quick-thinking neighbours rushed to the scene and managed to pull the snarling dog off the terrified child.

Neighbours saves the kid from XL Bully
One heroic resident even grabbed the dog “by the b*******” to force it to release its grip on Denis. The XL bully has since been put down because of the attack. The woman who owned the dog has been arrested on suspicion of allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control.

Denis’ parents, who have five other children, were still in the process of moving into their new home when the incident occurred. They were incredibly grateful to their new neighbours for their swift action, which likely saved their son’s life.

“I was yelling ‘no’, ‘no’, but it came and bit him. I was screaming and grabbed my little girl in my arms,” Denis’ mother recounted. “The lady with the dog opened the gate to take out the garbage can. The dog got out of the gate and ran towards Denis.”
Neighbours who heard the mother’s cries for help rushed to the scene and managed to pull the dog off the child. Thomas Hogan, 23, was one such neighbour who came to Denis’ rescue. He described the scene as “blood all over the little boy’s dad’s shirt” and thought the dog was going to kill Denis.

XL Bully had previous history as well
It has been reported that the XL bully had a history of violence towards animals and had previously killed a neighbour’s cat. The dog’s owner had previously owned an American pit bull, which was also taken away. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information should contact the police.

Denis is now back at home with his family after receiving treatment for his injuries at Sheffield General Hospital. His parents are for sure relieved as their little boy is safe. It’s clear that their new neighbours will always have a special place in their hearts for saving their son’s life.
This incident is a fair reminder for all of us. No matter how much we love our furry friends we must be careful at all levels. We should maintain Extreme caution for safety of both our human and furry kids.
